All you have to do is follow Beth F of Beth Fish Reads on Twitter or haunt her weekend cooking to know that she's always whipping up something delicious. She shared recipes for Latkes (potato pancakes), Shortbread Bars, and ideas for holiday side dishes (I have my eye on the brussel sprouts with chestnuts).
Les in Nebraska posted a recipe for Rugelach from her Kiss the Cook blog. I can smell the cinnamon, walnuts, and raisins all the way down here in Texas!
Book Club Care shared a recipe for a dish she calls Fruit Slices. It's a recipe that reminds her of mom and tastes like home. I know Scott would love it with Cherry Pie filling!
I shared the recipe I used to make the cookies in the picture above: Hildabrotchen or Shortbread Cookies with Jam. So pretty and not too terribly sweet.
Christine at The Happily Ever After... posted about making Spritz Cookies. I was familiar with the name but new them immediately when I visited her post. The type of cookies that just melt in your mouth!
Meg from Write Meg! shared her gorgeous Candy Cane Blossoms. Sure to impress at any holiday cookie exchange and they would be great for Valentine's Day Too!
And I about died when I saw Nicole's post about Maple Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies. Just read that title and try not to experience immediate mouth-watering. Nicole also shared a recipe for gorgeous Russian Tea Cakes.
Again, thanks for participating! And if you're just hopping around, I hope you find something yummy here!!
Happy Cooking!

Every weekend, Beth Fish Reads hosts Weekend Cooking. "Weekend Cooking is open to anyone who has any kind of food-related post to share: Book (novel, nonfiction) reviews, cookbook reviews, movie reviews, recipes, random thoughts, gadgets, fabulous quotations, photographs." Hope you'll join the fun!

Thanks for the round-up. I disappeared from the blogging world for a couple of months so I really appreciate this holiday recap of what I missed!
ReplyDeleteJoy's Book Blog
So many delicious recipes! I really wanted to participate in this, but I did not get my act in gear!
ReplyDeleteThis seems like it was lots of fun. I cannot believe I missed it. I have the broccoli, mushroom cheese pie in the oven as I am typing.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely bookmarking this page! Yum :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the round up I missed a couple of posts. I'm so trying those bacon chocolate chip cookies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific round-up. I do think I will try the Maple Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recap; there are some great sounding recipes here :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm definitely on a mission to check out some of those delicious-sounding links. What a fun roundup!
ReplyDeleteI hope you host an exchange next year too -- those bacon cookies from Nicole sound so good. I really need to make them.
ReplyDeleteGreat round-up, some excellent recipes, have to check them out. Your cookies look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the link up! I'm sorry I didn't get to contribute more and comment on everyone else's posts. As usual, the holidays were a whirlwind... phew!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll do this again next year! :)
I somehow must have missed that you had this exchange going on because I hardly read blogs during that period, so thanks for the round up :)
ReplyDeleteI know I commented yesterday -- but Blogger ate my comment, it appears.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for hosting the Holiday Recipe Exchange and I hope you do it again next year.
Oh and yeah, I plan on making those bacon cookies of Nicole -- just as soon as I recover from holiday eating.
*Joy - Hope you find something you like!
ReplyDelete*Lu - I didn't do a very good job of keeping up with it either--maybe next year.
*Esme - Mmmm, brocooli mushroom cheese pie sounds delicious!
*Chris - Yes, definitely some yummy things!
*Irene - The bacon chocolate chip cookies sound interesting, huh?
*bookchickdi - So curious to know how the bacon chocolate chip cookies will taste!
*Bookgirl - Thanks for visiting!
*Heather/Girl Chef - Love what a great variety of goodies there were.
*Beth F - Hopefully next year I can give a bit of notice instead of springing it up in the middle of the holidays. ;)
*Carol - Thank you--they're pretty easy to make and delicious!
*Christine - Thanks for leaving the link for the spritz cookies! ;)
*Uniflame - I didn't do a very good job of publicizing the exchange and did it last minute--didn't get as much action as I hoped.
*Beth F - Dang Blogger Spam! Got them both. ;)
Wow, I wish I had heard about this, but I'll look for it next year. The Maple Bacon Chocolate Chips sound absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteIs the time up already! I have such grand ideas and not really the follow through.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the round-up, Trish. I wish I was able to bake my rugelach this year, but time got away from me. Maybe for Valentine's Day?
ReplyDeleteBTW, I didn't realize you were in Dallas. We lived in Crowley (just south of Fort Worth) from 1998 to 2002. My kiddo went to TCU, works for JC Penney (corporate in Plano) and lives in Dallas. If I'm ever down your way, we'll have to get together and go book shopping! :)
