Don't forget that this is the last week for Where in the World Are You Reading!! We would love to see your local library (or a library you love) so hop on over to Kelly's blog to leave your link. I think the deadline is next Wednesday so that she can do a wrap-up for next Thursday. September's theme is "Waiting Room Reading" so put on your thinking caps. I may have already snapped a picture as I was waiting in my dentist office earlier this week. ;)
Earlier this month I showed you my hometown library but I also wanted to show you how I normally browse my library. At home. On the computer. You should be able to enlarge the screenshots below but my library has a wonderful online selection of audiobooks and recently they've started adding ebooks as well (for Kindle). SO convenient. I have learned that my physical library does have a better selection of audiodiscs, but...
Are you able to check out books from your library? It's definitely worth checking out! (dare I mention no pun intended).
Speaking of waiting rooms, send your positive thoughts our way today. Elle is undergoing an eye procedure to help correct her strabismus (procedure = surgery). The surgery is routine and she'll be fine but I have a feeling I'll be leaning on some shoulders to get through.
Happy Thursday!

I'll be thinking of you guys today, Trish. Hope all goes well with Elle's "procedure" and Mommy and Elle both get some good rest afterward. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI am sending hugs your way! No surgery is routine when a loved one is involved.
ReplyDeleteI send my happy thoughts your way for that procedure!
ReplyDeleteI found out earlier this year that my library offers eBooks and downloadable audiobooks as well, which is awesome if I want a book to read right away but they're closed or something. Only issue is there's usually only 1 or two copies so sometimes have to be on a waiting list.
More (((hugs))) for you. I know Elle will be fine, but I also know how tough this is on a mom. :)
ReplyDeleteI always have three books (the max) checked out on ebooks. I was thinking I should try an audio at the gym, but I worry I'll slow down to listen.
ReplyDeleteI am not even sure if I will be at a waiting room during the course of the month. I never even thought of that! I hope Elle is doing well!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything went well with the procedure today. Even if it was routine, I know it is scary to have it happen to your own child, especially when she is so young!
ReplyDeleteOh Trish, doesn't matter that it was "routine" surgery...Mamas and Daddies are of course going to worry! Hope all went smoothly for Elle, and for her wonderful parents. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI get about 90% of my library books through the website. I have an ongoing wishlist and when one is available I pick it up. Occasionally I'll spend an afternoon just browsing, but usually I'm waiting on specific books.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers go out to you and Elle!
ReplyDeleteSending my thoughts and hugs your way, Trish! I am on my library's site almost constantly, putting in requests for things. It has a great ebook and audiobook selection, too.
ReplyDeleteI realise that I'm reading this two days too late, but still, I hope Elle's eye procedure went smoothly and that she's home again, all safe and sound :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind email by the way, I really appreciated it!
Oops, the deadline for the library links is next Wednesday? I'm afraid I won't make it to my library before that, so I'll just have to do a "stand-alone" post. Oh well!
Your library's website looks really good, colourful too! My library's site used to be flawless and fast, but ever since they implemented this new design I am having trouble finding the right options...
Hope all went well for Elle:) I love the library for audio books. I no longer browse the new book shelves though as I just have too much at home to read.
ReplyDeleteOh poor Elle and mommy!!! Hope all goes well, and I recommend ice cream to help her feel better :)
ReplyDeleteI hope everything went well with Elle's eye surgery. Poor little thing to have to go through that.
ReplyDeleteNever went to the McKinney library - it seems like it's very nice. I think the further one I went to when I lived in Dallas was one of the Plano ones.
Poor Elle. She's too young for surgery! Sending prayers your way. I need to get my library post up!
