Over the long weekend we headed to "the ranch" for a few days--Scott's parents have a place way out in the middle Texas (we say west Texas but it's really right smack in the middle--south of Abilene if you know your Texas geography), and since Elle was born we haven't been out as often as we'd like. We took advantage of a cousin's wedding to really take in the scenery. And since I'm still sitting on Hawaii pictures, and since I've been wanting to blog about the ranch for years, I thought I'd get 'er done while I was thinking about it.
So...I present our weekend in pictures. And yes, a certain parent (who is not me) bought my daughter (and his) a camouflage dress. But the bow counters nicely, huh?
It was a great weekend away but it's always nice to be back in your own bed. Especially after you've tried sleeping with a toddler who thinks cuddling equals kicking mom in the face.
How was your holiday weekend?

Love love love these pictures, Trish! Looks like a gorgeous weekend :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time - well, Elle did anyway! I presume that's drier that it normally would be? Love, love the bottles hanging along the roof line with the flowers in them!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great, Trish. South of Abilene, huh? Looks about right from the shots you took. Love the sunset shots and the ones of Elle, of course. And the barbed wire Texas. What a fun place to visit. I remember trying to sleep with my daughter on trips - not such a fun part! LOL
ReplyDeleteElle is adorable in anything she wears! The ranch looks like a great place to get away to!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so even in camo, Elle is so stinkin' adorable -- I could eat her up :o) ((Sidenote: That's the strangest phrase ever, yet we all use it...)) And the ranch looks like a fun place to wander and take in life ... Great pics :o)
ReplyDeleteLOVE these pictures! And Elle couldn't be any cuter!!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable -- even in camoflauge. I can't believe how blond E's become.
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that Elle gets more adorable all the time? And I love that quilt-ish dress!
ReplyDeleteI love the second picture of her driving, and the old truck! We recently found an old abandoned truck near us too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place for a small girl! No wonder she was tired on the way back home!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place!! And Elle is just too wonderful for words! Love the cammo dress, especially when she's driving the cart.
ReplyDeletecjh
I love that picture of Scott and Elle walking together. So precious! I'm glad you had a lovely weekend. No labor day here so same as usual, but we'll have a nice four day weekend at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! What a gorgeous sunset -- and the camo dress is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures - what a great weekend! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Had a fairly quiet weekend and kinda wished I had been with my parents and sister, but it wasn't to be.
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful photos! I think the black bow is the PERFECT complement to the camo dress! That girl's got style. Looks like a wonderful weekend was had.
ReplyDeleteGood Heavens, what a doll you have. She reminds me of Juleitte with those big blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, and sounds like loads of fun!!!
ReplyDelete*Thank you guys--it was such a great weekend and I look forward to heading back when it isn't 100 degrees outside. Even the poor Guinea Fowl were hiding underneath the trucks to get out of the sun. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend as well!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Gorgeous sunsets.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos -- and agree that Elle is still absolutely adorable in camo! :) Looks like a great place to relax and unwind. Love the shot of the saddles, too.
ReplyDeleteAwwww. Yeah, just awwwwww...
ReplyDeleteHope you had a relaxing holiday :) The camouflage dress is cute indeed, but I much prefer the red and blue one ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, clear photos. Your little girl is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat little girl is just too stinking cute! I love that photo of her on the tractor. She looks ready to take on the world.
ReplyDeleteElle can make even camo look cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd are those donkeys?? They're pretty cute, too.
Wait...not nearly as cute as Elle! But I'm sure you know I wasn't making a comparison there. :-D
DeleteAww cute! Not a fan of camo but Elle wears it so well...she makes it adorable. My holiday weekend was quiet, and busy preparing for the school year.
ReplyDeleteElle is such a heartbreaker!
