Oye

This picture pretty much sums up how I feel right now. Exhausted and overwhelmed. No--that's not a moving box. Well it is but all of those bins and bags and boxes house my Christmas Village stuff. I'm not sure why they didn't make it all the way into the attic (which is walk-in from this room) ((glares at the person who can lift these boxes more easily than I can)), but they're invading my crafting space and making me crazy. But before they were here they were in front of my computer which invaded my blogging space. And to be fair a lot of that mess has nothing to do with Christmas village... (please note the hot pink converse one stars...adore).

Basically I'm defeated. I had big plans (ok, they were average plans) of a few posts for this week--one of which was about Project Life, but instead you get a glimpse into my messy life. I'm also taking a continuing education course for work which will culminate in a big test on Saturday which further means that those post I had hoped to write will just have to wait a little longer.

Just looking at that picture makes me tired. Yes?

  1. Two of my girls moved out after Christmas so an entire side of my house looks like your room :( We've got to do some painting before the rooms are usable again so it will have to stay that way until I can convince myself to get started. My youngest has grand plans for "her" side of the house, and she's getting impatient with me...can't understand why I'm so tired after work and don't want to paint :P

  2. If it is any comfort my house looks exactly like that right now too! I hope you get yours sorted soon. It is so stressful isn't it?

  3. I always seem to have areas of my house that look like that. Be thankful you have your Christmas village packed up--I still have Christmas decorations to take down, including all the kiddo's trees. :/ Just take the pressure off yourself to blog, sweetie. If it happens, great, but don't worry about it--sounds like you've got enough on your plate for this week. *hugs*

  4. Ah... that's not so bad. Just a good 30 minutes of tidying up and it will be good as new ;) Just listen to some music on your iPod and you'll have it ship shape in no time. Or... you can wait until Feb and then listen to The Shining. That will make you move!

  5. I always have a room of shame going on at my house ;) It moves from room to room but it is ALWAYS there. If someone took away my electronic gadgets and my books perhaps I'd be able to deal with it. But as of now? There is always something better to do ;)

  6. My house looks like this, too. Still trying to clear up from after Christmas, moving in new furniture and fixing up Greyson's room, and generally re-organizing some portions of my home after six months of living in it and figuring out what I actually need. Hang in there! You'll be back to norms. :)

  8. Messes like that make me tired, too. I've read that it's scientifically proven to suck your energy, actually! I'm sorry you feel defeated. You're not defeated, though; you may have lost this week, but there's always next week. Hope you feel better soon!

  9. I hear you. I started cleaning out our second bedroom last weekend. I removed a bunch of stuff to take to the Goodwill. Now that pile is sitting in my living room. I'm hoping to take most of it tomorrow.

  10. Life always gets in the way of our plans. I was all ambitious at the beginning of the month and then I got the flu and all those plans went to hell.

  11. The Christmas decorations are packed here, but there are lots of toys and clutter. Seems like moving them would be a good idea as the first thing to do, it won't help your test (best of luck for that!) but the space will make you feel less stressed :)

  13. If it makes you feel better, I just emptied out my linen closet today. The next stage is, of course, to sort, wash and reinsert everything but, well, I stopped after emptying it out. I just totally ran out of steam. So now my guest bedroom is full of towels and sheets and blankets and tablecloths and apparently old shower curtains and rugs and a yoga mat (I was wondering where that had gone). Oh, and my Christmas stuff is still out. I need to tape up the boxes before they can be put out in the shed. Sigh.

  14. Tired? Yes, but I also see a challenge, and I adore organizing challenges. I especially love cleaning up messes like that. I know. I am very weird. ;)

  15. I know exactly how you feel! I get so overwhelmed by the things I need to do! Good luck with your course!

  16. Wow! I thought I was the only one with large storage bins full of Christmas Villages and other myriad Christmas displayables (not a word, I know). Since there is no longer a man around to tote that barge (like he ever did anyway), the storage bins are out on mom's (where my sons and I are living now) deck under a heavy duty tarp waiting to be gradually pushed, pulled, dragged down to the shed. Ugh! I totally feel you. Hang in there! =O)

  17. It is odd how spare rooms always end up like this. I don't have a spare room right now and everything is in its place. Give me an empty room and I can show you how to junk it up but good.

  18. That's what my whole basement looks like; don't feel bad. And I don't even have a busy little one that keeps me hopping. I keep telling myself if I just spent 15 mins everyday working on that kind of thing, I would feel so much better and it would eventually get done. But it's so much easier to close the door, isn't ?!

  19. If you added a load of dog hair to the carpet, that looks kind of several of the rooms in my house. :-) (((Hugs)))

  20. Project Life? Can't wait to hear your take on it! I'm toying with the idea but afraid it will be one more time consuming thing...

  21. Oh I feel your pain sister! I also think it's this time of the year too. I've been tired and feeling blah, and it's cold out. Nothing exciting on the horizon either. Le sigh.
Maybe a piece of chocolate will me right now....
