Comfy Reading Spots - Where in the World

This month's theme for Where the in the World are you Reading is Comfy Reading Spots. It might surprise you to know that I've been doing more reading lately than I have in months? Maybe even a few years? Honestly it's just easier to crawl into bed with a book than to do something a little more active in the evenings. Granted many nights I fall asleep with the book in my hand, but I'm usually pretty comfy when that happens!

I have two practical choices for comfy reading at my house. My LazyBoy and my bed. If the TV isn't on then I choose the LazyBoy because I'm less likely to fall asleep. If the TV's on I can't concentrate on my book so I head to the bedroom. We have a pretty dang comfortable couch upstairs in the playroom but I never ever think to read there. Probably because if Elle is awake then I'm generally not trying to read because we're playing and if she's asleep then I don't want to leave the playroom light on and tempt her with playtime (we don't shut her door at night).

I was expecting a chickpea here...

And in case you wanted to see what either of these places looked like with a chickpea banana on the move...

Make sure you hop on over to Kelly's to see all the other Comfy Reading Spots around the world. And tune in here next week when we wrap up Where in the World Are You Reading with Bookishness Around Town. It will be our last Where in the World meme but there's a possibility it will continue on at Estella Society if there's enough interest. More on this next week but big hugs to all the participants and the armchair participants (you commenters) each month. It's been fun!

Where's your favorite comfy place to read?

and yes, I do use the OpenID but I don't like that it won't show my name as just CARE and my pie isn't shown.

  2. Ha ha, she never stops moving I bet ;) My favorite comfy spot to read is in bed. Electric blanket on HIGH!

  3. I used to love to read in bed but can't lay on my side anymore without my arm falling asleep, so I just sit in a chair.

  4. I have a few spots that I like but choosing one usually depends on who else is near it ;) There is a lovely corner in the living room that is right next to a window that looks out into my side yard. My side yard is like a park...all lush and green. I like to sit there with the window open. It feels like I am outside but without bugs and critters.

I also like my bed but not IN bed. I flop onto it and just sort of wait for the dog to find me. She ALWAYS does and after sitting on my head, she'll settle down and sit on my butt if I am lying on my stomach.

My loft, which is where my shelves are, was being used HEAVILY by the Boy pre-teen, but now that he is Skypeing with cute girls, he has resorted to his room. I might get my loft back!!

  7. Oh, the joy of falling asleep on your book. Which reminds me, on this side of the ocean it is more than time to go to bed... Good night! ;-)
