February Pin it and Do it Participant Round-up

Thank you thank you to all the folks who participated in the February Pin it and Do it. A lot of you regulars came back to play and there were even some unofficial participates on twitter.

Chrisbookarama had the holiday spirit in mind when she crocheted this awesome Valentine Coffee Cozy and the Chinese New Year Snake. Tell me you've seen a cuter snake before (you haven't).

Tami @ Just One More Thing was once again the #PinitDoit queen with several projects including beach signs for her bathroom, rolled paper cross, 2 pincushions, apron, recipes, gift tags and my favorite - 100 Calorie Snacks which I convinced my own company to try out thanks to her (p)inspiration.

Teri @ Henningsen Happenings leaped into the spring with a floral wreath for her front door rounding out wreaths for all of the seasons and major holidays.

Uniflame @ She Likes Bento three vegan recipes including potato and zucchini latkes, avocado hummus, and carrot risotto

Lisa @ Lit and Life always finds the most creative ways to use Pinterest for this challenge. She began by watching several movies that she pinned and wrapped up with some stainless steel cleaner and taco seasoning.

Maria @ A bookworm's life worked up a cooking storm for this month's Pin it Do it. She made the most delicious sounding Salted Caramel Brownies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding, and Sweet Potato Chips

Melissa @ Avid Reader's Musings finished a bunch of pins for February including a collage of her Penguin postcards, cleaning her dryer lint trap, a broquet (my favorite), potato soup, french onion soup, woooooo!

Larissa @ Like People and Butterflies had a couple of misses this round of #PinitDoit but she also had some winners as well. She created Letter Formation Worksheets for her kiddo, a Green Smoothie, Chocolate Chia Seeds Pudding, and finally she made a Kid's Corner for her daughter.

JoAnn @ Lakeside Musing had great luck in February with her food pins. She made Four Crockpot Chicken Successes , and also squeezed in a few more pins with yummy Butternut Squash Soup and a quicker way to make baked potatoes (which is genius).

Finally, I mostly used Pinterest this month to make things I've already made before (smoothies, spaghetti sauce, steel cut oats in the crockpot) but I also made some enchilada pasta and crispy potatoes (which made for even crispier leftovers). I put up a big mirror inspired by some decorating pins.

I haven't decided on a return date for the next round but right now I'm leaning towards May. I think that February might have been too close to the holidays and April is next month, so...  And always, if you have any suggestions on how to improve, I'd love to know. Do you guys miss the initial sign-up?

I do hope you'll join us next time and if you make something from Pinterest in the meantime, I'd love to know about it via #PinitDoit hash on twitter.  Do you have any upcoming Pinterest plans? Perhaps for gardening or Easter or spring cleaning?

  1. I was totally going to do it, but suddenly it was March! Basically, I ran out of time to write the post. May sounds good for the next one--for one thing, it has 31 days!

  2. Spring cleaning? That would really cut into my crafting time. :) Actually, I pinned a spring cleaning check-list just last night. I feel a #PinItDoIt post coming. I also had one total flop in my efforts this month - my first attempt at an altered book.

Thanks for hosting this fun challenge again. It's the perfect excuse to explain why the dishes are stacked and there's no supper on the table.

My suggestion for future challenge is that anyone who makes Salted Caramel Brownies is required to mail out samples to all other participants.

  4. What a great round-up. I really really want to do this, and now that I have more time (and not only that, I've just discovered, today, the concept of "parcelling out my time" to different activities and I kind of feel like a new woman now) I'm hoping to participate in your next #PinItDoIt, Trish. Now I'm off to check out those 100 calorie snacks and the potato and spinach latkes!

  5. I'm so sad I missed Pin It And Do It this time around. I hope life will be a little more settled next time you host it. It's one of my favorite challenges!

  6. I can't wait til May! But I need to let everyone know that if they want to make the spring wreath that I made mentioned above - hot glue is all that is called for to hold it together but I found that either the cold weather outside or my gluing skills caused problems and the wreath requires some light weight wire wrapped around the greenery to hold it in place!!
