Project Life 2013: Weeks 5-8

Remember when I told you guys that I started Project Life and it was going to be a super duper easy solution to all of my scrapbooking problems? Bahahahaha. Honestly I think I have a good excuse given what happened during the last week of January and the first week of February--how do you carry on Project Life when your family's insides are aching?

But I printed the pictures, I even cut them up, and I thought about scrapping...for weeks. Last Sunday, though, Scott took Elle to visit his sister and her kids which gave me the whole day to get caught up with PL. And I did! Except for the last two weeks because I ran out of printer paper. I know, I know.

To review--the little pictures are all from my phone. I've stopped caring if pictures aren't perfect or are a little grainy. Just like life, right? The scrapbooking paper is all from my stash. The cuteness is the chickpea banana. And the rest is life. You should be able to enlarge all of the pictures below to get a better idea.

Week 5 - I was REALLY light on pictures for this week and we didn't do anything of note so thanks Elle for letting me cut up your artwork! (what else am I going to do with it?!).

Week 6. A tough week but we had some bright moments.

Week 7 - I need to get some inserts that have up and down 4x6 slots as this was an add-on and you can tell  it's not 12x12. Oh and yes, we hoard fortunes...

Week 8 - Spring is on the way. And yes, a sono picture...I might have done a little editing on the original post as I wasn't quite ready to spill the beans yet. ;)

So yes, in theory this is super easy to keep up with. In reality one needs to keep up with it in order for it to be super easy. BUT I WILL NOT FAIL. IF IT'S THE ONE DAMN THING I DO THIS YEAR.

Off to cut some pictures for the week of February 25th...

  2. Lovely Trish!

I agree--keeping up is the key! Which is why I made a Tuesday night date with myself for every week this year. Of course, last night I blew off my date so today I'm already stressing about not having last week done. :P

  3. I'm impressed! I know the little one will treasure that one day. By the way, we hoard fortunes too!

  4. The one thing you do this year? Oh, aside from growing and then expelling another person from your body?

  7. I'm ridiculously behind on my Project Life for this year - only up to Week 2 - so you're way ahead of me. And, I am also woefully behind in extending congratulations on the new little one! How exciting!

  8. I'm so sorry for your loss Trish.

Your pages look amazing. I STILL haven't started anything. Although thanks for admitting that you tale photos on your phone and don't care that they're a bit grainy. Not having a proper camera is one of the things that keeps me from starting.

  9. I cannot tell you how much I love that you're including Elle's artwork here. Like you said, what else will you do with it. It's a beautiful way of remembering it. This is so cool!

  10. I wish I could this, but I know I'd be a failure (really -- I know myself well). BUT I love yours and you will treasure these books forever and ever.

  12. I can't do this as a project, but I love watching my guys grow when I scrap, good memories. Some day I hope they enjoy it too.

  13. It's great that you are keeping up despite life and losses. I admire all that commitment, and it will be amazing for Elle to be able to really catch up on your family's life.

  14. I wish I had done that with my children! I know they would enjoy it. I'm so not crafty though......I love looking at the ones you and Debi are doing, and admiring them. Real treasures for later on :-)

  15. I used to be so good about keeping up with my photo albums. This was back in the day when you'd drop a roll of film off at the drug store (or Fotomat!). A week later, you'd have 24 or 36 pictures to tuck away in albums and frames. Now, with digital photography, the numbers of photos shot every year is astounding. I try to get prints of trips and family visits and get them into albums, but honestly, I'm years behind! Every To Do list I've written for the past 5 or 6 years has said Work on Albums. I need a year sabbatical from work just to catch on my photos! :)

BTW, what a great idea to include portions of Elle's artwork. You're gonna have a lot more in the coming years, trust me!!

I'm still holding you and Scott in my thoughts and prayers. Grief is so damned hard and my heart goes out to you both.

  16. I'm loving your pages so much, I'm seriously thinking that I just might need to start doing something like this. On the other hand, with grown kids, and a pretty unexciting life, there's not much to scrapbook, so probably not. It's so fun to see your pages, though.
